Moms and Mentors Society Scholarship Program
Thanks to the Lions, Westshore Rotary Sunrise, Colwood Rotary, PEO and Beta Sigma Phi, and several private contributors for contributing to Moms and Mentor’s Scholarship program. Their support provides hope, opportunities for attaining goals, and a step up in building healthy families and communities.
Krystal was 16 when her son was born. Maureen was her Public Health Nurse and later became her Mentor outside of her usual work day. Krystal was a dedicated student, and worked hard as a young parent to complete high school. Thanks to St. Mathias Church and the Knights of Columbus, Krystal was a recipient of scholarships which enabled her to continue her education and attend college.
Krystal said, “The key for anyone, whether it’s a teacher, a grandmother, a grandfather, anyone, it is support. Love and support is a big help for anybody. It takes them one step closer to knowing that they are able to continue and accomplish goals that they thought they might not have been able to.”
Krystal is now married with 3 kids and is a nurse working in Neurology.
